Our Story
Quick Facts
The mission of Step by Step
is to collect new and gently used shoes and distribute them to kids in impoverished villages around the globe.
Step by Step was founded in 2006 by 13 year old Avery Hale from Kentfield, CA. Currently, shoes have been distributed in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Jordan, Kenya, Peru, and South Africa.

How are the shoes distributed?:
When I have the opportunity, I go abroad myself to deliver the shoes personally. Other times, volunteers have offered to take them to a country where they can make shoe donations. Occasionally the shoes are shipped, but this gets expensive!
